Dr. Roger Tian

Dr. Roger Tian graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1996 and subsequently trained and obtained postgraduate qualifications in Surgery (Masters in Surgery and Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh). He joined the Changi Sports Medicine Centre in 2004 after obtaining his Masters in Sports Medicine from the University of New South Wales. He is the first locally trained sports physician. Besides his current appointment as a Consultant Sports Physician, he is also the Medical Director for the Singapore Sports Medicine Centre at Novena Medical Centre. His clinical practice includes injury management and prevention, performance optimization, and sports nutrition. Besides patient care, Dr. Tian has served as a sports physician/ medical director at several major events including the inaugural Asian Youth Games, Youth Olympics, AVIVA 70.3 Half-Ironman and the OSIM Singapore International Triathlon. Dr. Tian is active in research and has both published and presented his work in international journals and meetings. Currently, he is a Senior Clinical Lecturer with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and oversees both undergraduate and postgraduate training in the Division of Sports Medicine. He also contributes his expertise on several national committees and advisory panels.
